![]() ![]() While quite manageable, it feels good to actually succeed alone and know that you are skilled enough to win. The first is to play solo, with a solo base and without any friends to help you along the way. ZD has two main ways to play, as well as several other customizable options at the game start. It only adds to the glory of actually winning in ZD, if you can manage that. There is no bias, and the ranking gives no bonuses, which is a plus to the equal playing field for everyone in the map. In ZD, everyone starts off the same with one horse, containing a peasant, a gatherer, and a free starting tent. It has become a staple classic for the ages to come. If anything, I would say that ZD is one of the few maps keeping the custom maps alive, alongside Helms Deep, Survival Chaos, 300, MD, Tower Survivors, and a few others. The community behind this map, located in the discord linked in the main thread, is also at a healthy size and is quite active. This custom map boasts three main things that you would want to see in a WC3 map, and is currently - and has been - a map I've been replaying over and over again. Boasting even more then that, ZD shows great qualities that I will go into lengths below. Unlike other base defense games, such as Monster Defense, which draws great inspiration from ZD, Island Defense, or others, Frotty's Zombie Defense is completely roguelike. ![]() The map, Zombie Defense, or ZD, is an incredible project that features everything you'd want from a custom build-based defense game. To the large defended gates for the scouts, to the small walls near the trees. The builders build, the farmers farm, to the clawing of the zombies outside. The grasslands below the walls of our defenses awake to the clawing of zombies outside. Though, I wonder, what started all of this, and why do I feel as if something monstrous, from Hell itself, is about to take everything from me again? Our families grow, and our humble shacks become skyscrapers once more. ![]() With each day, our wheat fields get larger. Everything we build from scratch may come tumbling down if a zombie finds it, and we have hell to pay if we accidently break through our tree walls. With luck, they're dumb enough to only attack man-made structures. Thousands of an endless swarm of zombies attack the walls in every direction. The zombies took everything from humanity. ![]()
